John Michael O'Dea AM, KCSG, born on 11 November 1938, is an Australian solicitor and former politician known for his local government service in North Sydney, where he served as an alderman and mayor. He worked for Carroll & O'Dea Lawyers starting in 1960 and became a partner in 1963, remaining until his retirement in 2006. He is notable for being the father of Jonathan O'Dea, the Speaker of the NSW Legislative Assembly.
