Michael Proksch is a German composer, pianist, author, and piano educator born on October 15, 1958, in Dresden. He has been living in Munich since 1985, working as a freelance artist. Proksch is known for his diverse publications, film scores, and musical-literary projects, especially compositions for children and youth. His music has been featured on over 20 CDs and in a portrait program on Bavarian television. In 2010, he co-authored a bestseller about his childhood in East Germany and his experience as a political prisoner.
