Michael Wharton was a prominent British newspaper columnist known for his work under the pseudonym Peter Simple in the Daily Telegraph. He started his 'Way of the World' column in 1957, contributing regularly until 1987. He later launched a weekly Peter Simple column in the Sunday Telegraph in 1990 and returned to the Daily Telegraph in 1996, continuing until his death in 2006. His last column was published shortly before he passed away at the age of 92.
