Michal Huvar, born Miroslav Tiefenbach on February 13, 1960, in Hustopeče, is a Czech writer, journalist, publisher, traveler, and filmmaker. He founded the publishing house Carpe diem in 1997 and later established a publishing company in 2006 and a film company in 2005. His most popular works focus on Czech singer-songwriters, including Pavel Žalman Lohonka and Karel Kryl. Huvar records concerts of artists and documents travels inspired by the works of Hanzelka and Zikmund as well as Karel Čapek, adapting the latter's travel books into films.
