Zampetas collaborated with various composers and performed in popular venues, showcasing his skills on guitar and bouzouki. Apart from music, he served as an elected municipal councilor in Aigaleo. He had relationships with three women and two children from his marriages. A heavy smoker, he succumbed to cancer on March 10, 2008, the same day his father died 16 years earlier.
