Michel Cépède was a French agronomist and administrator born on October 20, 1908, in Wimereux, Pas-de-Calais. He studied engineering, geology, and law, but dedicated his career to agriculture. He served as a teacher of agricultural economics and held various positions in the Ministry of Agriculture, including head of studies and director of economic research. Cépède was also involved in combating hunger in France and contributed to establishing the FAO. He participated in the Paris uprising and the liberation of the Ministry of Agriculture during the war.
