He was a member of the student theater at Escher Jongelycée from 1975 to 1981, where he had his first acting performances under Ed Maroldt. Clees served as the President of the Administrative Board of Kufa from 1999 to 2020 and was the resident author at the Théâtre National du Luxembourg during the 2019/2020 season, with the play 'Captcha' premiering in January 2020.
