Michihisa Kitashirakawa was a member of the Japanese imperial family, born on May 2, 1937, and passed away on October 20, 2018. He was the first son of Prince Kitashirakawa Nagaharu and Princess Shoko. Michihisa was the fifth head of the Kitashirakawa family and a descendant of Emperor Sukō, as well as a great-grandson of Emperor Meiji through female lineage. Before his family renounced its royal status, he held the title of prince according to the Imperial House Law.
