Michimasa Satō (1943-) is a Japanese poet and critic from Mizusawa, Iwate, now residing in Sendai, Miyagi. He graduated from Iwate Prefectural Mizusawa High School and Tohoku University. He has taught at high schools in Miyagi and is an editor for the Kahoku Shimpo Poetry Circle. Satō founded the literary magazine 'Rojō' in 1966, focusing on tanka, poetry, criticism, and children's literature studies. He is known for his works on Kenji Miyazawa and Hakushu Kitahara, and has received multiple literary awards.
