Mihail Hașeganu was a Romanian politician, economist, academic, and diplomat born on November 4, 1913, in Suseni, Argeș County. He was part of the Romanian Communist Party and served as the rector of the Institute of Economic Sciences and Planning from 1955 to 1959. This institution later evolved into the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies in 1967. Hașeganu also held significant diplomatic roles, including Ambassador to Czechoslovakia from 1959 to 1961 and Romania's Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 1961 to 1966.
