His notable achievements include placing 33rd at the 1963 European Allround Championships and competing at the Winter Olympics in 1964 and 1968, with his best finishes being 37th to 50th across various distances. His highest national championship placement was second in the allround event in 1965 and 1966. His brother, György Martos, also competed in speed skating.
