Mihály Mayer (born January 31, 1941, in Kisdorog, Hungary) is a retired bishop of Pécs. He was ordained as a priest for the Diocese of Pécs on June 21, 1964. Appointed as Titular Bishop of Giru Marcelli and Auxiliary Bishop of Pécs by Pope John Paul II on December 23, 1988, he was consecrated on February 11, 1989. Mayer became Bishop of Pécs on July 3, 1989. In 2010, serious allegations against him emerged, leading to his resignation, which was accepted by Pope Benedict XVI on January 19, 2011.
