Lars Mikael Östling is a Swedish engineer and professor in solid state electronics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology since 1996. He studied technical physics at Uppsala University, earning his master's degree in 1980 and later a doctorate in electronics. He has held prominent roles, including head of the Integrated Components and Circuits department, and prorector since 2017. Östling co-founded TranSiC to commercialize silicon carbide transistors and has published approximately 350 articles. He has supervised over 40 doctoral theses and contributed to various EU research programs.
