Michael Theodore Hayes Auret (1936-2020) was a Zimbabwean farmer, politician, and activist, known for his commitment to justice and peace. He served as the chairman of the Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace in Zimbabwe from 1978 to 1999 and was a member of Parliament from 2000 to 2003. Auret dedicated his efforts to document human rights abuses during the Gukurahundi massacres and led opposition against President Mugabe's government. After resigning from Parliament due to health issues, he emigrated to Ireland, where he lived until his death.
