Michael Alan Carey is a former basketball coach who led the West Virginia University women's basketball team and previously coached the Salem International University men's basketball team. He played college basketball at Salem International University, earning a letter each year and being named freshman of the year in his first year. Carey's legacy in coaching is continued through his son, who received a similar honor in 2006.
