Michael "Mike" A. Hammer is an American diplomat born in 1963. He served as the Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs from 2012 to 2013, and as the Ambassador to Chile from 2014 to 2016. He held the position of Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo from 2018 to 2022. Currently, Hammer is the Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, focusing on diplomatic relations and regional issues in that area.
