Mike Oldfield (born 15 May 1953) is an English multi-instrumentalist musician and composer known for his innovative music style that incorporates folk, world, classical, electronic, new era, dance, and rock genres. He gained fame with his iconic 1973 album Tubular Bells, which was not only a groundbreaking instrumental concept album but also the debut release for Virgin Records. Additionally, he achieved further recognition in 1983 with the hit 'Moonlight Shadow' and his rendition of the Christmas carol 'In Dulci Jubilo'. He is noted for self-producing and recording many of his albums.
