Michael Daniel Penner (1957–2009) was an American sportswriter for the Los Angeles Times. In 2007, he publicly came out as transsexual, adopting the name Christine Daniels. However, in 2008, he reverted to his male identity and name. Tragically, Penner died by suicide in 2009, marking a complex and challenging personal journey during his life in the public eye.
