Michael Woodger is a pioneering English computer scientist known for his influential work on the early Pilot ACE computer alongside Alan Turing. He also contributed to the design and documentation of significant programming languages, including ALGOL 60 and Ada. Woodger was based at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) in Teddington, London, for the majority of his career. He graduated from University College London in 1943 and began working at NPL in 1946, where he helped to shape the early computing landscape.
