Mikhail Aramaisovich Petrosyants (December 4, 1919 – July 18, 2005) was a Soviet and Russian meteorologist, geophysicist, and educator. He received a Doctorate in geographical sciences in 1965 and served as a professor. Petrosyants was the director of the Central Asian Regional Research Hydrometeorological Institute from 1958 to 1967, the first director of the Experimental Meteorology Institute from 1968 to 1973, and the director of the Hydrometeorological Research Center of the USSR from 1973 to 1981. He was also a participant in World War II.
