Mikhail Alekseevich Vorfolomeyev (October 9, 1947 – May 26, 2001) was a Russian prose writer, playwright, and screenwriter. He worked in a factory after finishing school and later became the artistic director of the Cheremkhovo Theater. He gained recognition for his first play, 'Wormwood - Bitter Grass,' premiered in 1975, which won an award for the best play about World War II. His second play, 'Curtains,' debuted successfully in Moscow in 1978-1979. Vorfolomeyev was also a laureate of literary awards named after M.A. Bulgakov and I.A. Bunin.
