Born on January 10, 1956, in Kyoto, he serves as a member of the House of Councillors in Japan's national legislature. Daimon is a dropout of Kobe University and first ran for a seat in the House of Councillors in 1998 but was unsuccessful. He eventually won election to the House in 2001, marking the beginning of his political career.
