Mikkel Borlaug Johnson is an American physicist born on January 2, 1943, in Waynesboro, Virginia. He completed his Bachelor of Science at Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1966, followed by a Master of Science in 1968 and a Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University in 1970. Johnson became a staff member at the Los Alamos National Laboratory and was elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society in 1983 for his significant contributions to the understanding of nuclear forces and their effects on nuclear systems.
