Mikko August Valtasaari (April 13, 1942 – February 27, 2023) was a Finnish journalist known for his long tenure in Yleisradio's foreign news department. In the 1970s, he served as a correspondent in Paris and Bonn, and in 1980, he was appointed to lead TV1's current affairs department. From 1984 to 1988, he was based in the United States as Yleisradio's correspondent in Washington. Valtasaari was a Master of Political Science from the University of Helsinki. He published a notable book in collaboration with Pentti Halme and translated a nutrition guide in 2012.
