Miklós Endre Horváth was a prominent Hungarian politician, serving as the first freely elected mayor of Környe from 1990 until his retirement in 2006, following the political changes in Hungary after 1989/1990. He was in office for four consecutive terms, and also served as a member of the Komárom-Esztergom county assembly from 2002 to 2006. His contributions to the community were recognized when he was awarded the honorary citizen title in 2001.
