Miklós Gimes was a Hungarian journalist and politician, born on December 23, 1917, in Budapest. He gained prominence for his involvement in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Gimes was executed in 1958 alongside Imre Nagy and Pál Maléter on charges of treason. He came from a Jewish family and was noted for his parents' backgrounds as they were psychiatrists and converted to Unitarianism. His mother, Lilly Hágdu, was a physician and served as the president of the Hungarian Psychoanalytic Society from 1947 until its forced dissolution in 1949.
