Milagros Mata Gil (1951-2023) was a Venezuelan novelist and essayist, recognized for her contributions to literature and education. A professor of Spanish, literature, and Latin at the Instituto Pedagógico de Caracas, she also engaged in research on Venezuelan literature. As a member of the Venezuelan Academy of the Spanish Language since 2011, she made significant literary contributions, including her novels and essays. Additionally, she authored the anthem of the Heres Municipality in Bolívar state.
