Milan Šmíd is a Czech media analyst, journalist, and university educator active at Charles University Faculty of Social Sciences (FSV UK). He worked in the foreign editorial office of Czechoslovak Television from 1969 to 1990. He was a member of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia from 1965 until 1990. Šmíd has had a significant impact on the media landscape in the Czech Republic through his analytical and journalistic work.
