Miles Hyman (born September 27, 1962) is an author and illustrator renowned for his graphic novel adaptation of Shirley Jackson's short story, The Lottery. He draws inspiration from 20th-century American realists, European symbolists, noir films, and popular art. Hyman frequently collaborates with authors and adapts works by notable writers. Living in France since 1985, he was honored as Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters. His adaptation of his grandmother's story won 'Best Adult Graphic Novel' at a comic festival, and he has illustrated editions of her works.
