Mindy Jostyn was a talented American singer and multi-instrumentalist known for her work in the folk rock and pop genres. Born in Long Island City and raised in San Jose and Wellesley, she formed her first band, The Tigers, at the age of 11. Jostyn played violin, guitar, and harmonica, and worked as a sought-after backing musician for numerous artists including Joe Jackson and Cyndi Lauper. She was a member of The Hooters from 1992 to 1993. Jostyn passed away in 2005 due to cancer at the age of 48.
