Mireya Cueto was a Mexican puppeteer, writer, and playwright, born on February 3, 1922, in Mexico City. She co-founded the national puppet museum Museo Nacional de Títeres in Huamantla, Tlaxcala. The daughter of artists Germán and Lola Cueto, also known for puppetry, she was honored with the international Gorgorito Prize in 2006. An annual puppet festival, Festival nacional de Títeres 'Mireya Cueto', has been held in her honor since 2001.
