Mirko Foret, born Miroslav Foret, was a Czech composer, trumpeter, and conductor. He was a founding member of Gustav Brom's orchestra and played a key role in Czech jazz and popular music from the 1940s until the 1980s. Foret was notable for his collaborations with many renowned musicians and orchestras, recording popular songs and performing throughout Czechoslovakia and abroad, including appearances in Finland and Sweden. In recognition of his contributions to the arts, he received the Senior Prix award in 1993. He passed away in 1998.
