Miroslav Črnivec was a Slovenian geodesist born on November 22, 1930, in Bjelovar and passed away on August 16, 1997, in Bovec. He graduated in 1957 from the geodetic department of the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering in Ljubljana. He worked at the Institute for Geodesy and Photogrammetry and became an assistant professor at the FGG in 1959. He led a photogrammetric mapping project in Tanzania in 1965 and took charge of the Republic Geodetic Administration of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia in 1969. In 1977, he was appointed an associate professor at FGG.
