Mithat Perin was a Turkish journalist and politician born in Nevrekop, Bulgaria, who graduated from Galatasaray High School in 1938 and studied at the University of Liège in Belgium. He held significant roles in various newspapers and served as the editor-in-chief of Yeni İstanbul. A member of the Democratic Party, he was elected as an Istanbul MP in 1957. His role in the 'Nine Officers Incident' and involvement in the Yassıada trials led to a 33-month imprisonment post the 27 May coup. He returned to journalism in 1962 and held leadership positions in press associations.
