Mitsuo Matayoshi (February 5, 1944 – July 20, 2018) was a Japanese political activist and founder of the World Economic Community Party. He was born in Ginowan, Okinawa, and after graduating from Chuo University, he returned to Okinawa to run a private school. Trained as a Protestant preacher, he developed a unique interpretation of Christianity influenced by eschatology, claiming he was God. He passed away from kidney cancer at the age of 74, leaving a distinctive mark on the intersection of religious belief and political activism.
