Mitsuteru Yoshii was a Japanese politician born on January 4, 1931, in Hofu, Yamaguchi Prefecture. He graduated from Hofu High School and served as a member of the House of Representatives for four terms. His political career began after being elected to the Hofu City Council in 1967, followed by three terms in the Yamaguchi Prefectural Assembly. Yoshii was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1979, returned after a brief defeat in 1980, and served until his retirement in 1993. He was recognized for his cross-party popularity and influence in establishing the Komeito party in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
