Miyashita graduated from Nagoya Higher Commercial School in 1929 and studied under Tanaka Kanji. He held various academic positions at Kobe University, eventually becoming a professor and earning a Doctorate in Economics in 1952. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, 2nd Class in 1980. He retired in 1972 and became an emeritus professor at the university.
