He currently plays for Al Ahly in the Egyptian Super League and is also a member of the Egypt national basketball team. Adly participated in the 2009 FIBA Africa Championship, contributing significantly despite the team finishing in tenth place, their worst ever result in the tournament. He was a key player in a victory over Mozambique, leading the team in rebounds during the event.
