Mohamed Kamel Amr is an Egyptian diplomat born on December 1, 1942. He served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs under Prime Minister Hesham Qandil. Appointed by Essam Sharaf, he succeeded Mohamed ElOrabi amidst controversy over his reported ties to Amr Moussa's electoral campaign. Amr held several diplomatic positions, including the last one as the Egyptian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia from 1995 to 1997. After his diplomatic career, he focused on economic roles, working at the World Bank as an executive director representing Egypt and 13 Arab states from 1997 to 2008.
