He served as a Member of the Knesset for the Israeli Communist Party and was the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Al-Ittihad." Nafa was an advocate for a two-state solution and opposed the Israeli military service for Druze. He was recognized as one of the prominent short story writers in Palestinian literature, having begun his writing career in 1964, with his works translated into several languages.
