Mohammad Ali Baniasadi is an Iranian painter, illustrator, cartoonist, and sculptor born in 1955. He is renowned for his illustrations in children's books and magazines, contributing significantly to children's literature for four decades. His work has earned him several prestigious nominations, including being a finalist for the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2012, often referred to as the Little Nobel prize. Additionally, he has been nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award for four consecutive years starting in 2013. He is a founding member of the Iran Association of Children's Book Illustrators.
