Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, known as Aziz Jafari or Ali Jafari, is a former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Iran. He was appointed by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Ali Khamenei, on September 1, 2007, succeeding Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi. Jafari served in this prominent military position until he was removed on April 21, 2019, when Major General Hossein Salami took over his role.
