Mohand al-Shehri (born August 17, 1979) was a Saudi national who was one of five hijackers of United Airlines Flight 175 during the September 11 attacks in 2001. He left home in 2000 to fight in Chechnya but was possibly rerouted to al-Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan for the attacks against the US. Al-Shehri obtained a student visa for the US in October 2000 and arrived in May 2001.
