Mohd Shahar bin Abdullah is a Malaysian politician born on December 6, 1980. He has been serving as the Member of Parliament for Paya Besar since May 2018 and held the position of Deputy Minister of Finance I under Ismail Sabri Yaakob's administration from August 2021 to November 2022. Prior to this, he served as Deputy Minister of Finance II under Muhyiddin Yassin from March 2020 until August 2021. Mohd Shahar is a member and the Division Chief of Paya Besar for the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) and is currently the Chairman of the Parliament Backbenchers Club since March 2024.
