Mohinder Singh Randhawa (1909-1986) was a prominent Indian historian, civil servant, botanist, and author, significantly impacting agricultural research and the Green Revolution in India. He played a key role in rehabilitating Punjabis after the Partition and contributed to the establishment of Chandigarh. Randhawa also documented the arts and agricultural history of Punjab, earning recognition for his work. His contributions led to him being affectionately referred to as 'Punjab da Chhewan Dariya' or the sixth river of Punjab by biographer Gulzar Singh Sandhu.
