Momoko Sakura (Japanese: ちびまる子ちゃん) is a Japanese anime scriptwriter and manga artist, born in Shizuoka in 1965. She began her career as a manga artist in 1984. Her most famous work, 'Chibi Maruko-chan', started as a manga series in 1986 and continued for several years before being adapted into an animated series that gained popularity worldwide, including being dubbed into Arabic.
