Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu, born on April 9, 1959, is a notable Nigerian politician. She served as a senator for Oyo Central from 2015 to 2019 after winning the elections on March 28, 2015. Known for her leadership, she chaired the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs. Prior to her senatorial role, she made history as the first female Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, assuming office on June 10, 2011, while representing Oyo East and West Local Governments.
