Moriteru Ueshiba, born on April 2, 1951, in Tokyo, is a prominent figure in the world of Aikido, being the grandson of its founder, Morihei Ueshiba. He has led the Aikikai organization since 1996 and became the Doshu (master) after his father's passing in 1999. A graduate in economics from Meiji Gakuin University, he hosts numerous Aikido seminars across five continents and organizes the New Year celebration event, Kagami Biraki, in Japan. His son, Mitsuteru Ueshiba, is set to succeed him as the fourth Doshu.
