Morris Raskin, known as 'Tubby,' was an American basketball player and coach born on January 8, 1902. He played for the Brooklyn Arcadians in the American Basketball League (ABL). Raskin transitioned to coaching, leading the men’s basketball team at Brooklyn College and the Hartford Hurricanes in the ABL. He coached the Israel men's national basketball team at the 1952 Summer Olympics and guided the U.S. basketball team to a gold medal in the 1953 Maccabiah Games. He passed away on September 9, 1981.
