Morris Ziff (1913–2005) was a distinguished physician, educator, and researcher recognized for his work on arthritic and rheumatic disorders. He was instrumental in the discovery of the rheumatoid factor and was pivotal in establishing the rheumatology unit at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Ziff received numerous prestigious awards throughout his career, including the Heberden Medal and the Carol Nachman Prize. He held the title of Ashbel Smith professor before becoming professor emeritus and continued to engage in research until 1999.
